A Dragon for Samhain

A new Dragon is born at the Forge this Samhain one of the 8 great ancient fire festivals of the year! Sculpted from Steel,Bronze, and copper with enameled green eyes and featuring a solid steel internal gas pipe and threaded port for propane fire, She is the latest study in a life long love affair with Dragons in my art work. In Mythology Dragons and serpents are not inherently evil they are both the tempter and the redeemer, a chaotic force of nature inherent to every person that must be channeled properly being a symbol of Bio energy or Life force. Another meaning of the dragon is like the Magician of The Tarot the synthesis of the 4 elements, with the legs representing the earth, the scales Water, wings Air, and breath Fire, which esoterically represent physicality, emotion, intellect, and Willpower, those aspects of being alive that when combined and brought into harmony with each other that make the wielder truly capable of Miraculous action. Furthermore the dragon as an archetypal expression of Freewill has come to remind you of your sovereignty and burn the throne of government dependence from your Mind!

Concerning the fall of Atlantis: “Idolatry was introduced by encouraging the worship of the images which in the beginning the wise had erected solely as symbols for study and meditation.” -Manley P. hall- The Secret Teachings of all Ages, chapter 22.

Forged in Phoenix Fire

The Phoenix an extremely multifaceted symbol representing the more esoteric side of Scorpio and the life and death cycle of the Sun, being an analog of the Eagle, but also other raptor birds such as hawks, falcons and even the turkey. Almost every mythology on earth has some direct or analogous reference to the Phoenix as it is the quintessential bird of the ancient mysteries traditions from Egypt to Phoenicia to Babylon through its numerous incarnations as the Eagle of various empires including America where the Freemasonic and other secret society explorers and founders sought to build a new Atlantis. According to Manley P. hall the classic adage of Franklin, Jefferson, and Adams discussing the would-be national bird of turkey vs the Eagle was a tale to veil the True symbol of the Phoenix. The question remains will this new Atlantis be a civilization of True Philosophy and magic or will it fall into dotage and sorcery like the old. The Phoenix on a microcosmic level represents the soul spark of Phosphorus or Sulfur those animating and essential nutrients according to Rudolf Steiner that “have to do with how Light works into matter” and thus named “light- bearers” after the planet Venus the morning and evening star. The Phoenix represents the Reddening (3rd stage of alchemy the flowering of the Philosophers stone, the immortal completion of the Great Work of alchemy.

Symbol of the thunder god

Forged and brazed steel and bronze Eagle emblems. The eagle has always been the symbol of the the thunder god or the planet Jupiter, who’s veneration is the root of what we consider traditional western values,Fathor, Order, Structure, Greatness, Gratitude, Monogamy, Marriage, Conversely the shadow of side of the eagle, is Wrath, bigotry, being condescending, authoritarianism. These characteristics are often misrepresented as christian in origin, but that is because the temples to the thunder god of various names were often transformed into christian churches during the conversion era. The church merely incorporated the existing values of peoples into the new paradigm. Indeed so much of what people love and want to defend about the West is actually based in the Pagan classical world and not on Christianity.

Back to the Shire.

“Fireworks Gandalf Fireworks!” “Dragon, Nonsense there hasn’t been a dragon in these parts for thousand years!” Back to Shrewsbury Renaissance Fair, my home fair, In the lush Kings Valley Oregon, Good Fun good business, And good company, though I have to wonder if I’ve been officially labeled a disturber of the peace? Fire extinguishers were on hand I assure you!

Balancing the Fire temple

I expanded my workshop with a new wing and added steel roofing and Cedar fascia. Steel roofing services as well as carpentry services are available. As an artist and esoteric scholar I know the importance of aesthetic symmetry especially in architecture. there’s a reason “temple” is a word used for buildings as well as the human head. keep your brain balanced too much to the right with the mammalian cortex and it might fall out and two much to the left in the reptilian cortex and you’ll be closed off to anything new. Politics contorts and preys on this dynamic. The solution is found at the apex between each hemisphere or wing at the human Neo cortex (sovereignty from government) and not in the dirt between them with some kind of (centerist totalitarianism )

concrete work.

Digging trenches laying pipe and spreading concrete for a new drain to keep a building from flooding. Apart from blacksmithing which Ive been at since I was eleven, Concrete work was my formal introduction to the world of the trades when I was 19 and since then I’ve worked off and on doing jobs like this.
